ABOUT US
Through comprehensive filmmaker development programs, strategic grant funding, prestigious awards, immersive apprenticeships, and educational initiatives, BICC empowers Black filmmakers globally to tell their stories authentically, foster diversity and representation in the film industry, and create lasting impact within their communities and beyond.
OUR MISSION
A liberated, thriving ecosystem where Black indie storytellers are resourced, celebrated, and centered in reshaping the global film landscape—an ecosystem rooted in cultural truth, creative freedom, and collective power. We envision a world where Black creatives have access to the funding, platforms, and recognition they deserve, where their stories drive transformation, and where their artistry influences how the world sees itself and what's possible.
Develop bold, authentic stories through immersive labs, story kits, and worldbuilding programs that honor cultural truth and push creative boundaries.
Receive direct, trust-based support via The Reclamation Fund and comprehensive fiscal sponsorship.
Document culture and resistance with resources to preserve work for future generations.
Gain recognition through The Ignite Awards and community gatherings that honor Black excellence.
Join a global community building solidarity, visibility, and collective power.
Our flagship event is taking place October 3–4, 2025 in Los Angeles — a convening of Black independent filmmakers, immersive creators, and creative technologists featuring hands-on workshops, industry panels, networking, and community celebration.
